Childhood Memoir

Presently, I’m working on my childhood memoir made up of a collection of  short stories narrated by a little girl named, Kitty. The stories take place during a 6 year period from the time Kitty is three until eight as she traveled across the United States with her writer father and artist mother, and two siblings. From the time Kitty was five till eight  she and her brother attended seven schools some times as long as a year, but usually two or three months. Everywhere Kitty they moved, she and her brother created new adventures from building a lean-two, digging a cave with cut outs to hold candles the actually lit, to selling minnows they scooped up from a river by their apartment. They were never bored and always excited about the next project they came up with. It is amazing to me that I remember so many details as if they were yesterday even though in some cases it’s been over 60 years. Writing my personal childhood memoir is a rich experience for me, better than I ever thought it could be. For the last number of months I’ve edited the stories I’ve created and now it’s time to create more new stories from my list of adventures and experiences.

First Post 7/17/2015

This is my very first post on WordPress even though I signed up over 5 years ago on May 2010.  Time passes much too FAST. I must remember that and do what I want NOW. I feel good writing this post but not even sure of my subject. Actually I had no plans to write a post on WordPress today. It happened because my  granddaughter, Yuri wanted me to read her post “zombie apocalypse.” One thing led to another and within a few minutes, I’d re-established my WordPress account. So happy about that. Thank you dear Yuri for being the catalyst. I’m not sure what I’m doing. Don’t know how WordPress works, how I’ll incorporate it in my writing life or any other parts of my life. But, I know one thing for sure. I’ll just put one foot in front of the other and soon, I’ll know more about what I’m doing. That’s basically how it works for me. Who will I send this post to? Not sure? I’m not even sure how to send it.  But, I’ll learn.
